Projects
- Drilling large diameter wells at Mumi Mutanda 40kms East of Kolwezi (November 2018 – today) – WAD has completed 10 x16” boreholes lined with 12” steel casing from 200 to 300m. WAD has also been removing, installing and recovering pumps where required. During 2019 WAD completed $2,400,000 of drilling.
- Drilling large diameter FRSC holes for Frontier Mine (November 2015 – 2017) – starting with 24 “casing at surface then drilling 22” and 20” to 250m. These boreholes were lined with 16” plain and louvre slot steel casing.
- Drilling for Phelps Dodge Congo at KISANFU (2012 – 2014) – Drilling 12 piezometer and 7 large diameter production boreholes 120-200m – Production wells.
- Drilling for Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation PLC (ENRC) at Mashitu (2011-2012) – This aquifer characterization program involved the drilling and casing of a number of monitor boreholes and 8 production boreholes 120m deep finished with 8 inch plain and slotted steel casing.
- Drilling for RUASHI MINING (October 2011) – WAD completed 1 x 250m deep 12” borehole and 7x100m deep 16” drilled boreholes lined with 12” plain and slotted and steel casing with 6-9mm gravel pack. These were to be used as dewatering boreholes.
- Drilling and Aquifer Testing and Characterization for Tenke Fungurume Mining (TFM) (2010-2011) –Drilling of 3 x 150-200m deep (drilled 17.5” cased 14”). WAD also pump tested these boreholes for aquifer characterization.
- Drilling for RUASHI MINING (2010) – drilling of 1x250m deep production borehole (10” casing) and 8 Monitor boreholes (114mm).
- Drilling for Tenke Fungurume Mining (2008 – 2009) WAD via Eastern Drilling was employed to complete 10 large dewatering boreholes at TFM. The boreholes were 200m deep. The top 12 – 130m was drilled 17.5” and cased with 16” (406mm) steel casing – due to the nature of the ground the 16” casing had to be Symmetrixed/Odexed to the required depth. The boreholes were continued to full depth (200m) drilling 14.4” and cased to bottom with 10”uPVC and Johnson screens, then gravel packed. Yields of those borehole were estimated from 25 to 150 liter per second. Boreholes were also pump tested for aquifer characterization and pump size estimation.
- WAD gained a contract to drilled 15 Environmental boreholes for KAMOTO OPERATING LIMITED (KOL) (2007) at Kolwezi. These boreholes was completed using a Super Rock 3000.
- WAD via Eastern Drilling was appointed by Geosearch International to drill production boreholes and to pump test them for aquifer characterization at Tenke Fungurume Mining (May 2006) – approximately 30 boreholes were drilled. 10 of these boreholes were cased with 10” steel casing to depths of 100-150m.
- WAD via Eastern Drilling in a joint venture with Geosearch started another aquifer characterization project for AFRICO RESOURCES at KALAKUNDI (November 2006).
- WAD was appointed to drill boreholes for ANVIL Mining at Kinsevere (June 2010).
